(13wWHAM)Rochester, N.Y. - Beginning in July, Delta Airlines will upgrade to a bigger jet for service between Rochester and Atlanta.

That means Delta Airlines will expand their daily non-stop service between Rochester and Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport by upgrading its fleet to planes that will offer 33 more seats per day.

Senator Chuck Schumer asked Delta CEO Richard Anderson to add flights or capacity to the increasingly popular route.

AirTran, the only other airline with non-stop service between Rochester and Atlanta, exited this regular route last month, as part of AirTran’s merger with Southwest Airlines.
