(13 WHAM) The Michael Pilato case is in the hands of the jury. The Webster teen is facing murder and arson charges for the Decemeber 2011 fire that killed his father and two brothers.

His lawyer James Nobles used his closing argument to detail the troubled home life Pilato experienced and the struggles he endured after being born to a mother who was addicted to crack cocaine.

The defense is asking the jury to consider "Extreme Emotional Distress" as a reason Pilato set the fire. That determination would allow the jury to convict him of the lesser charge of manslaughter.
