Albany/Rochester, N.Y. - New Yorkers who want to properly get rid of unused or expired medications can drop them off at sites around the state as part of national prescription drug take back day.

State officials say it's important to protect the environment and public health by safely disposing of the drugs, particularly prescription medications.

They say there will be about 250 places open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday to take in the drugs.  Locally, those include the Eco Park and most town police stations.
