West Irondequoit N.Y.-Voters in the West Irondequoit School District have once again defeated the districts proposed school budget .

55 percent of those who turned out did sign off on it -however the proposal aimed to override the state mandated 2 percent tax cap. In order to allow for that, 60 percent of voters would have needed to approve the plan.

Superintendent Jeff Crane said if the budget was defeated, drastic program cuts will be needed.
