Amazon Released an Alexa-Compatible Christmas Tree

Tired of leaving the house only to wonder if you remembered to unplug the Christmas tree lights? Amazon feels your pain and they’ve just come out with a new high-tech fix. The company now makes the first-ever smart Christmas tree that works with Alexa and could help ease some of your holiday stress.

The faux evergreen is a seven-foot Douglas fir tree called Mr. Christmas and you can control it with voice commands through Alexa, Amazon’s virtual assistant. If you buy the $300 tree, you can sit on the couch and say, “Alexa, turn on the Christmas tree lights,” or get more specific and ask for one of 13 lighting functions, like multi-fade or blue sparkle.

Mr. Christmas also has a user-friendly design with pre-wired pole-to-pole connections, so putting it together shouldn’t zap too much of your holiday cheer. And since you control it with Alexa, you won’t need a remote for the lights or to have to reach around and mess with a switch. It will even turn your lights on and off at the same time every day and won’t leave your floor covered in pine needles.
