It all started when the pop diva, 32, shared a photo of herself wearing the same dress that she wore during her set as part of Glastonbury 2016. "Finally got your Instagram password lol," the rapper, 37, wrote in a comment to the post, to which she responded with winking and red heart emojis.
Prior to the exchange, The Sun reported that Adele, who announced her separation from husband Simon Konecki in April 2019, have bonded over their individual breakups. He was romantically linked to Naomi Campbell last year. "Adele and Skepta have been there for each other a lot after both their relationships split up. They have a close bond and there’s definitely a special connection," the British tabloid outlet reported. "They’re spending more and more time together. Some of their friends are hoping and predicting they could end up being a great couple one day."
Neither of the stars have come forward to speak about the rumors, but these two have been close for a long time. Back in 2016, Stepta opened about his friendship with the star. "She speaks to me about how things are going. She’s one of the people I know that, from her [example] alone, you can move in a certain way where you’re not inviting fame," he told ES Magazine. "She’s the biggest artist in the world, bro, and you do not see her in the papers [every day]."
In other news, it seems as if COVID-19 might have also impacted the rollout for Adele's big comeback. After previously teasing a September release, the pop star told insistent fans that there’s no teaser or official word on its drop date. "Of course it’s not. Corona ain’t over," she reminded the user, adding, "I'm quarantining. Wear a mask and be patient."
