Dolly Parton, Lil Nas X & More To Perform At 1st Virtual GLAAD Media Awards

Dolly Parton, Lil Nas X and Chloe x Halle will be performing at this year’s first-ever virtual GLAAD Media Awards.

Additionally, Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade and plenty more stars will be joining the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and queer media advocacy organization’s celebration, which was initially scheduled to have its 31st annual awards show take place in New York on March 19 and in Los Angeles on April 16.

Unfortunately, both events were canceled due to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

Comedians Gina Yashere and Fortune Feimster will do the honors of hosting the event alongside stars like Rachel Maddow, Cara Delevingne, Dan Levy, Olivia Wilde, the cast and producers of Pose and many more.

"Among this year's nominees are a wide range of stories and narratives about LGBTQ people of different races, ethnicities, genders, religions, and other identities that demonstrate the power of inclusion and diversity in fostering positive cultural change," GLAAD President & CEO Sarah Kate Ellis said in a press release. "As this year's Media Awards go virtual, we hope to send a powerful message to LGBTQ people that in the midst of this culturally and politically divisive time, our visibility and voices have never been more important."

The 31st GLAAD Media Awards will be streamed via GLAAD’s Facebook and YouTube channels on July 30. The event will also broadcast on Logo on August 3.
