My wife and I went on a road trip with her sister and our good friend all around New Mexico, and we had the BEST time! Here are some of the highlights from our trip.
FIRST STOP: White Sands National Park:
This is the newest national park in the US, and it looks like the Sahara desert- nothing but sand dunes for EVER. The sand is actually so soft you can sled down the dunes, which of course we did. You can rent a sled on site, but we brought our own.
Second Stop: The Hot Springs of Truth or Consequences, NM
This is a cute small town with awesome hot springs! We stayed at Blackstone Hot Springs, and our room bath tubs could be filled with hot spring water to make our own private hot spring. Then we went out to River Bend Hot Springs for the day to soak right next to the Rio Grande. There was also a pretty good brewery across the street which we obviously had to check out.
Third Stop: My Favorite Brewery, La Cumbre- Albuquerque, NM
We stopped for a beer and some lunch in ABQ on our way to Santa Fe. My favorite beer from there is the "Slice of Hefen," but they also have great IPAs. You might see their "Elevated" around town too.
Fourth Stop: Santa Fe, NM
We got to explore Santa Fe for about a day and a half. What a beautiful southwestern city. We had great food, great drinks, and really fun experiences at Meow Wolf (an interactive art experience that you NEED to check out) and the Georgia O'Keeffe museum.
