So, we've all heard the famous expression 'it's so hot you could cook an egg on the sidewalk', right? But what about cooking biscuits in a car? Well, it's been done! With the massive heatwave the majority of the country experienced over the weekend, and with many states hitting triple-digit temperatures and causing dozens of cities to declare heat emergencies, the National Weather Center wanted to hammer the point home to viewers so they ended up providing a demonstration for people to understand just how hot it really was.
The center is located in Omaha, Nebraska and the outdoor temperature was closing in on 99 degrees, but it was a lot hotter inside a car. In fact, it was hot enough that a sheet of biscuit dough hit 175.2-degrees Fahrenheit after only an hour!
