A student who was scheduled to graduate from Hunter College in New York on Tuesday wound up missing his ceremony after he was stuck on a train for two hours. But don't worry, his fellow passengers threw him an impromptu ceremony instead. "Everyone seemed annoyed...I felt like lightening the mood and thanked everyone for 'coming to my graduation,'" Jerich Marco Alcantara says about how he passed the time during the delay. That's when his friends decided to stage a mock ceremony right on the subway. They drew up a "diploma" on a cell phone while playing Green Day's "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" in the background. "I think it ended up being so much better than if I was on time," Alcantara says. "I would have probably fell asleep if I was at the commencement."
