The Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School hockey team won the Lightning High School Hockey League Tier 1 Florida state title on Sunday. ESPN reports that #4 seed Stoneman Douglas upset top-seeded East Lake to make it to the championship game against Jesuit. The team beat Jesuit 7-4, a victory that came just 11 days after 17 people were killed during a shooting at their Parkland, Florida, school. "Nobody was lacking energy in locker room, we all came to play, we were all ready," senior Matthew Horowitz told ABC 10 in South Florida. "This wasn't for us. This was for the 17 victims." The players earned 17 medals, which they plan to bring back to school to honor the 17 victims of the shooting.
