Tin Cup is a great golf movie, but nobody wants to emulate Kevin Costner's stubbornness on the film's most famous hole. Yet defending Masters champion Sergio Garcia did just that on Thursday, putting five consecutive chip shots into a water hazard on the par-5 15th hole, where he carded a historically horrible score of 13. (Ironically, Garcia hit the flagstick and made eagle on the 15th hole during his triumphant final round last year.) Garcia finished the first round tied with amateur Matt Parziale, a full-time firefighter during the workweek, for second-to-last at nine over par, and is all but certain to miss the cut Friday. Another recent winner, Jordan Spieth, leads the field at six under par.
