It's about time!!! Wegmans Food Markets announced yesterday it will begin same-day delivery service in stores in Rochester, Syracuse and Buffalo starting in August.
Wegmans has partnered with Instacart, a grocery delivery service based in San Francisco.
The service allows some Wegmans customers - ones who live in the store's delivery area - to complete their grocery shopping online and have their orders delivered in as little as an hour.
Wegmans customers can shop by going to the site instacart-wegmans.com or downloading the Instacart app. People can then choose whether they want their products delivered in one hour, two hours or up to seven days in advance.
"We know our customers are busy, and that any found time in their week can make a difference," said Heather Pawlowski, vice president of e-commerce for Wegmans. "We're excited to be working with a partner like Instacart."
The delivery service will launch in Buffalo-area stores on Aug. 1, Rochester-area stores on Aug. 8, and Syracuse-area stores on Aug. 15.
