Last Friday night was one for the record books at Hollywood Hills High School. Literally. Not only did 16-year-old Holly Neher get to play in her first varsity high school football game as their first female quarterback, she threw a touchdown on her first throw!

Neher is the only female player on her team and her 45-yard touchdown was the only one they scored Friday night, but it was still an amazing night. After playing on her school’s flag football team for two years, the five-foot-two teen finally hit the field to show off her skills in tackle football and everyone was impressed.

“This didn't happen at a small school, weak level of competition. This is Florida & a Class 7A (2nd largest class) school,” Matt Rodewald from Fox 10 tweeted. “Remarkable moment.”

Holly even got a social media shout out from local politician Marco Rubio, who tweeted congratulations to her on her first career TD pass. And the Kentucky State Police were so impressed they offered her a job when she graduates, tweeting “After high school, come see us!”

Now Holly hopes her success story will help inspire other young girls to follow their unconventional dreams. She says, “I hope that they all see how small I am and no matter what mindset or color, race, size, gender, you can do anything you want.
