You might know, the Seneca Park Zoo is working on a Zoo transformation project, and the next phase is about to start. To make room for a new, state of the art tropics complex, three orangutans - Denda, Kumang and Bella - will head to other zoos.
Zoo Director, Larry Sorel had this to say about the change:
"While it's very sad to say goodbye to Denda, Kumang and Bella, we are very happy that they are moving to zoos where they will have modern habitats rather than the ones in the antiquated Main Zoo building.
While the zoo has had Bornean orangutans since 1967, Kumang has been at the Seneca Park Zoo since 1991, and has had four offspring, including Bella (who is four years old).
