20 Moments That Made Us Smile in 2020

2020 has been a very rough year for pretty much everyone worldwide. So "Rolling Stone" put together a list of "33 Moments That Made Us Smile in 2020," and it covers everything from entertainment and social media to good news stories and politics. Hey, sometimes you've just gotta focus on the positives!! Here are 20 highlights:

1. January 26th: Lizzo crushed it on FLUTE at the Grammys.

2. March 22nd: New Yorkers began their 7:00 P.M. cheer for frontline workers.

3. April 2nd: Dolly Parton launched her series of bedtime stories for kids.

4. April 15th: "Riverdale" did "Hedwig and the Angry Inch".

5. April 16th: Disney aired the first "Disney Family Singalong" special.

6. July 7th: Jon Hamm and Patton Oswalt re-created the "Battle of Wits" from "The Princess Bride" on Quibi. 

7. July 13th: The Washington Football Team ditched its very controversial "Redskins" franchise name.

8. July 23rd and December 11th: Taylor Swift surprised the world with a new album, TWICE. First with "Folklore" and then with "Evermore".

9. August 26th: The Milwaukee Bucks walked off the court in protest of police brutality. It happened three days after police in Kenosha, Wisconsin shot Jacob Blake seven times as he attempted to enter a vehicle with three of his children. Jacob is Black, and he was unarmed.

10. August 30th: Lady Gaga's VMA performance: A medley of "Chromatica" tracks over about 10 minutes with great choreography, costumes, and a special appearance from Ariana Grande for "Rain on Me".

11. September 20th: "Schitt's Creek" star Daniel Levy freaked out in a kilt as he gushes over his dad Eugene Levy's Emmy win.

12. September 25th: Nathan Apodaca, a.k.a. "420doggface208," went viral on TikTok with his 20-second video where he rode a longboard, swigged a bottle of cran-raspberryjuice, and sang a bit of Fleetwood Mac's"Dreams".

13. October 6th: Miley Cyrus unleashed her "Heart of Glass" cover.

14. November 3rd: All six weed-related ballot initiatives pass.

15. November 8th: "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" reunited on HBOMax, and BOTH Aunt Vivs participated.

16. November 9th: Drumming prodigy Nandi Bushell hung out on Zoom with her idol, Dave Grohl. They've also engaged in a DRUM-OFF.

17. November 13th: Harry Styles appeared on the cover of "Vogue" in a dress.

18. November 19th: A tiny OWL emerged from the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree.

19. November 19th: The "Ratatouille" musical went viral.

20. December 13th: Smokey Robinson's "Chanukah" Cameo, where he proved he was unfamiliar with the "CH" spelling of Hanukkah.
