Madonna confirmed through Instagram on Wednesday that she has adopted 4-year-old twins from Malawi.
The "Like A Prayer" singer shared an adorable photo of herself walking hand-in-hand with her two new children on Instagram, along with a lengthy caption explaining her gratitude for the adoption.
"I can officially confirm I have completed the process of adopting twin sisters from Malawi and am overjoyed that they are now part of our family," she wrote. "I am deeply grateful to all those in Malawi who helped make this possible, and I ask the media please to respect our privacy during this transitional time. Thank you also to my friends, family, and my very large team for all your support and Love!"
The singer had taken a trip to Malawi last month and denied rumors, which had been swirling for weeks, that she would be adopting more children from the country.
The twins, whose names have not been revealed, will be Madonna's fifth and sixth children. She is already the mother of Lourdes, 20, Rocco, 16, David Banda, 11, and Mercy James, 11. The 58-year-old also adopted David Banda and Mercy James from Malawi.
