20 years ago today, on August 31, 1997, the world was rocked by the death of Princess Diana.
She was killed while fleeing paparazzi after her driver lost control and Princess Di's car crashed in a tunnel in Paris. The Princess of Wales was only 36-years-old at the time.
Now, 20 years later, her son William ( who was 15 at the time) is the Duke of Cambridge as he approaches her age. His younger brother Prince Harry was only 12 when he lost his mum.
Elton John changed the lyrics to his huge hit "Candle In The Wind" to perform as a tribute at Princess Diana's funeral on Sept. 6, 1997. Ironically, as you will see below, he entered Westminster Abbey with George Michael, who also died too early in life when he passed Christmas 2016 at the age of 50.
Here is Elton John's stirring tribute to his friend Princess Di.
