I wish I was as good a person as Justin Montagno. This young guy knows how to make a difference.
Montagno, a Churchville, NY volunteer firefighter, ran in the Rochester Half-Marathon this past Sunday to honor those who died in the 9/11 attacks.
What made his run more special than the others who were there on a warm Sunday morning? Justin ran his 13.1 miles in full firefighting gear. Can you imagine running that far in the heat lugging along over 60 pounds on your body?
That's what firefighters do. They run into buildings, climb stairs and save lives because they are drawn to the service of others.
Cheers to Firefighter Justin Montagno and all who sacrifice for others. Thanks to Matt Malloy and 13WHAM News for sharing his story here:
