If you're thinking of heading to New York City, I would re-think that plan.
Not only are the major NYC airports looking at delays and many cancellations over the next 24 hours, but now the New York State Police has banned travel on the NYS Thruway for high profile vehicles.
As of 8 a.m. this morning, all tractor trailers, tandem trailers, box trucks, and other high profile vehicles are not allowed. Drivers are urged to avoid any travel unless absolutely necessary.
Starting at the New York State Thruway in Syracuse (Exit 36) down to the New York City line, travel will be restricted. This includes the Berkshire Spur to the Massachusetts State Line, I-95, Garden State Parkway Connector and I-287.
