Michael Myers met his match with Laurie Strode, while "Halloween"almost slashed "Venom" apart at the box office this weekend.
The re-make of the classic horror flick broke some records, including best opening day October record of $33.3 million Friday, just narrowly missing out on the best October weekend opening ever with over $77 million. "Venom" still holds that prize as it brought in $80 million earlier this month.
"Halloween" also set a record as the top movie for October with a female lead actress. Jamie Lee Curtis plays Laurie Strode, who stalks the legendary Myers character. You've got another scary weekend to see how she fares as we zero in on actual Halloween next Wednesday.
If you weren't in the cinema over this past weekend, here's what to expect if you dare to head there this week.....
