Alicia Keys is gearing up to be one of the headliner's at our iHeartRadio Music Festival Sept. 20 & 21 in Las Vegas. You can win a free Vegas flyaway six times every workday here on our station.
"Shockingly..." Alicia may be making a move to upstate New York to open a performing arts center and studio campus in Macedon, NY.!
Macedon (population 8,985) could be a global music factory!
As first reported by the Times of Wayne County, reps for the Grammy winner laid out plans Thursday night at a Macedon Town Board meeting. There's plenty of room to store her 15 Grammy Awards on the 110 acre property that once was home to Kordite Corp and Exxon/Mobil.
The idea is being pitched by Keys and her hubby Swizz Beatz (real name Kasseem Dean), a music producer. I can almost guarantee he will be the only gentleman in Wayne Co. with the name Swizz.
The Beatz family will own 3 buildings housing 200,000 square foot of space off route 31 in Macedon if all goes well with the planning process. The deal is expected to close within the next two weeks, according to the Times.
A lawyer representing the Macedon town board Linda Shaw called the deal "shockingly real". Who knew Alicia Keys could find Macedon on a map?
She must be in an "Empire State of Mind", a song she dedicated to New York many times. Watch her perform it here, and see her live in Vegas when you win your trip on air.
